SARATOGA SPRINGS - Curtis Robert Bullard passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, with his loving wife, his family and his friend, Nate King, at his side.
Curtis was born Jan. 12, 1937, in Ware, Mass. He was the son of the late Milton and Minnie Rutherford Bullard.
He married Shirley Demers on Feb. 24, 1957, and they spent 55 wonderful years together.
Curtis served his country in the National Guard 104th Division for seven years.
Curtis worked for Quaboag Rubber, North Brookfield, Mass., for 25 years. He was then employed as a salesman for Chemicals and Fire Apparatus for many years prior to retiring.
After retiring he enjoyed his time as a volunteer firefighter for the Maple Avenue Fire Department, where he served as safety officer and driver.
He was a lifetime member of the Meadowood County Area Fire Department in New Hampshire and the Brookfield Fire Department in Massachusetts.
He was an avid hunter and woodworker.
Curtis is survived by his wife, Shirley; his son, Gary Bullard and his wife, Lynne; his daughters, Debra McGee and her husband, Kenneth, and Teresa Bullard; his grandchildren, Jessica Edmonds and her husband, Dave, Jacob Connors, Phillip Enright, Danny Enright, Kristen Enright, Cate Shaw and her husband, Dan, and Mary Schneider; three great-grandchildren; extended family, Terri Schneider, Joe Schneider and his wife, Maureen, and Patti Caffrey; and many other family members and friends; and especially his dear friends at the Maple Avenue Fire Department.
A funeral service will be held in celebration of Curt at noon Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave./Route 9, Saratoga Springs, where friends and family may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
After the service, friends and family are invited to join the family at the Maple Avenue Fire Department for further fellowship and lunch.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Maple Avenue Fire Department sign fund.
