SARATOGA SPRINGS - ""Ernie"" Graf, 81, peacefully passed away at home in his sleep Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013. He had just returned from a wonderful Christmas week with his daughters in Grand Rapids, Mich.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters, Debbie Graf, Janet (Don) Fehsenfeld and Jill (Patrick) Russell, and his stepdaughter, Becky (Ken) VanEk, along with many close friends who had the pleasure to know someone with such a kind and caring heart.
He also leaves behind his beloved birds, Jamie and Oscar, who now have new homes.
Ernie was predeceased by his parents, Ernest and Bertha Graf, and his infant son, James.
Born April 29, 1931, in Ann Arbor, Mich., Ernie attended Pioneer High School, graduating in 1949. He also graduated from Michigan State University in 1955 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business.
Upon graduation and marriage, he was employed at Michigan Bell Telephone Co.
In 1963, he moved his family to Grand Rapids, Mich., where he undertook employment at Union Bank and Trust Co.
Upon retirement, he moved to Saratoga Springs. There, his interests turned to antiques and stoneware. He became a member of the Collaborative at Stone Soup Antiques Gallery, where he spent much time with many friends.
He was also an avid University of Michigan football fan and never missed a Saturday game on TV.
As Ernie requested, cremation has taken place.
A memorial gathering will be held in Ernie's honor from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at Stone Soup Antiques Gallery, 19 Low St., Ballston Spa. All friends are welcome.
