Obituary Condolences

Blanche D. Zigo GREENFIELD CENTER- Blanche D. Zigo, 78, a longtime resident of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa following a long illness. Born on May 27, 1934 in Bolton Landing, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Dorothy (Goodchild) Monroe. Blanche graduated from Brant Lake High School. She married Richard A. Zigo on May 28, 1955 in Greenfield Center. The couple resided in Greenfield for many years. He died August 8, 2000 following 45 years of marriage. Along with her husband, Blanche owned and operated Schroon Valley Trailer Park in Warrensburg for 20 years. Besides her husband, she was also predeceased by one sister, Eveland Smith. Survivors include four children, Daniel Zigo and his longtime companion, Heidi of Ballston Spa, Thomas Zigo of Glens Falls, Katherine King and her husband, Dennis of Greenfield Center and Michael Zigo and his wife, Jeanette of Greenfield Center; two grandchildren, Jared Fuller of Wilton and Keri Fuller of Mechanicville; one great-grandson, Logan; two sisters, Lillian Wood of Queensbury and Beatrice Bartlett and her husband, Richard of Ft. Edward; one brother, John Monroe of Minerva; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Committal Service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 2, 2012 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m., today(Thurs.) at the Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth. The family suggests donations be made in Blanche's memory to the , 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY, 12205.
