Brigida Dammes Obituary
Brigida M. Dammes Saratoga Springs, NY – Brigida M. Dammes, formerly of Hempstead, LI, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Saratoga Hospital. She was 81. Born on May 7, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Selby and Brigida Burch. She was a graduate of the Academy of St. Joseph in Brentwood, NY and attended the College of Notre Dame in Maryland. During her years of working she was a fashion model, training director, fashion director and recruiter. Before retiring to Saratoga Springs, Brigida was secretary to the Director of Religious Education at St. William The Abbott Church in Seaford, NY. She was a member of St. Clement's Church, a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister and a member of Ladies of Charity. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Emily Thompson and her brother, William Burch. Survivors include her husband Wesley R. Dammes; daughters Christina (James) Bean and Erika (James) Lodispoto; seven grandchildren, Alicia, John, Anne, Steven, Anthony, James and Francesca. Brigida's family would like to extend a special thanks to Wanda, Paula and Yolanda for all of their love, care and compassion. Relatives and friends may call from 10 to 11:15am Monday, April 8, 2013 at Our Lady's Chapel, St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30am in the church by the Very Rev. Paul J. Borowski, C.Ss.R. Burial will be in the family plot at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 11am.
