SARATOGA SPRINGS - Daniel S. Doyle, 81, formerly of Ravena, passed away suddenly Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012.
Dan was a Navy veteran and served during the Korean War. In 1990, he retired from R-C-S Central School District after 35 years of teaching. He was a former member of the Ravena Fire Police and former president of the teachers union and grievance committee at R-C-S and most recently served as treasurer for the Men's Breakfast Club at Prestwick Chase.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Beverly J. Doyle; his children, Patricia Doyle, Frederick Daniel (Lee) Doyle, Timothy Doyle and Christine (Paul) Curtacci; his grandchildren, Danielle (Seth) Tucker, Joanna (Kevin) Hom, Erin (Jon) Zanborsky, Lynn Doyle and Daniel and Kathryn Curtacci; his great-grandchildren, David, Allison and Ryan Daniel Hom and Samuel Tucker; and his brother, William J. (Bette) Doyle.
Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at St. Patrick's Church in Ravena. Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Coeymans.
Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Babcock Funeral Home, 19 Pulver Ave., Ravena. A good old Irish wake will be held for his friends at Prestwick Chase at a date to be announced.
