She was predeceased by her parents, James and Olive Millington; three brothers, Ronald, Wayne and Norman Millington; one sister, Alice Williams; two infant daughters, Olive and Sheila Coons; a grandson, Alan Eichorst Jr.; and two infant great-grandchildren.
She married Norman Coons in 1943, and they were married 30 years until his death in 1982.
She was a housewife all her life and loved to be around her family and friends. She also loved collecting anything, from spoons from all over the world to teacups and wind chimes. She loved angel figurines, garage sales and getting a great bargain.
Her apple pies were loved by all.
She loved her dogs, Toby, Nicki and Macey May.
She loved all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart and smiled whenever she saw them. She will be sincerely missed by all!
She is survived by her five daughters, Ina (Alan) Eichorst of Greenfield Center, Claudia Coons (Tony) Turner of Port Jervis, Darlene (Bill) Pratt of Greenfield Center, Alice (Tony) White of Victory Mills and Norma (Art Jr.) Thivierge of Schuylerville; one son, Norman Jr. (Deena) Coons of Glens Falls; her grandchildren, Christina (Eric) Armburst, Alicia (Shawn) Russell, Roger (Annie) Kelly, Katherine (John) Holmstead, Tony Jr., Autumn and Tiffany Turner, James (Jen) White, Ashley (Kekoa) Comeaux, Tiara, Emajie and Jaden White, Billy Pratt, Elizabeth, Brittany and Brooke Thivierge, Corey and Tyler McGarr and Hayley Coons; 16 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and her wonderful aunt, Marion Gill.
The family would like to express their love and appreciation to all involved with her care.
Her caregivers were Sonia Rawlins, Tracy Hill, all the visiting nurses, Dr. O'Kosky and the staff at Saratoga Hospital, Wesley Health Care and Hospice of Saratoga Springs.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013, at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville. A gathering will follow at the Victory Mills firehouse.
Friends may call prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
