Geraldine Ida Gibbs Morett Ticonderoga, New York - On Tuesday, July 3, 2012, Geraldine Ida Gibbs Morett, 82, passed through the gates of heaven to be greeted by her maker and her husband of over 50 years, who she sorely missed. Geraldine was born on January 28, 1930 in Ticonderoga, New York, the youngest of ten children of Philetus Sawyer Gibbs and Arvilla Mae Spaulding Gibbs. On September 23, 1951 she married Louis John Marinelli Morett at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Ticonderoga, New York. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Louis, granddaughter Carolyn Rose Moran, as well as seven of her siblings and their spouses, and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. Geraldine is survived by her five children and their spouses: Stephen and Janet Morett of Saratoga; Marilyn and Thomas Towne of Queensbury; Louann and Donald Jaquish of Moriah; Eva and Brian Lovegrove of Peoria Arizona; and Dennis and Valerie Morett of Ottumwa, Iowa; Grandchildren: Arvilla Mae Morett-Fordrung and husband Kyle; Calvin Morett, Heather Moran Heatherly and husband Elijah; Erin Towne Hachey and husband Donney; Amy Towne Garvey; Andrew Towne; David Morett, Jennifer Jaquish, Gabriel Jaquish, Jennifer Lovegrove Roy and husband Phil; Jeremy Lovegrove and wife Vicki; Joshua Lovegrove and wife Ruth, Jessica Lovegrove; Katelyn and Maleah Morett. Great grandchildren: Christian, Chase and Jonah (twins) Heatherly; Levi and Landon (twins) ,Chandler and Ashlyn Roy; Kyrah, Titus , Grant, Jeremiah and Joel Lovegrove; and two sisters, Martha Downs and Ella Mae Denman; one sister in law, Antoinette ‘Toni' O'Bryan and many cherished nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday July 6, 2012 at the Wilcox and Regan Funeral Home, 11 Algonkin St., Ticonderoga. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Church of Ticonderoga at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday July 7, 2012. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Parish Cemetery. Donations in Gerrie's memory may be made to St. Mary's School of Ticonderoga, NY where all of her children attended, or to the Ticonderoga Emergency Squad or Fire Department.
