Jean Salley Obituary

Jean "Marie" Salley SCHUYLERVILLE, NY- Jean "Marie" Salley, 82, a resident of Burgoyne St., died Monday, April 25, 2011 at Saratoga Hospital after a short illness surrounded by her loving family. Born August 15, 1928 in Cambridge, NY she was the daughter of the late John and Florence Dumas Kelly. She was one of 12 children. Marie was a homemaker, loved to knit, cook and bake. She was an avid bowler and was a member of the Old Saratoga Post #278 American Legion Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Loren Salley who died March 15, 1984; her twin brother Eugene, and brothers, Jackie, Bobby, and Jerry; and twin great granddaughters, Abigail Salley Warren and Bethany Ivens Warren. Survivors include her children, Nancy Jean Salley (John) Wood of Gaithersburg, MD, Joseph L. (Eileen Wheeler) Salley of Schuylerville, Timothy John Salley of Schuylerville, Karen (Bob Eckardt) Salley of Saratoga Springs, and Dean Thomas Salley of Schuylerville; 3 brothers, Jimmy, Dick, and William Kelly; 4 sisters, Catherine Bain, Betty Carruthers, Joan Weir, and Lois Adamson; sister-in-law Kay Pasquariello; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Wood Filer Orsborne of Damascus, MD, Stephanie Wood Leckemby of Sterling, VA, Lorna Wood Cullison of Broad Run, VA, John M. Wood of Damascus, MD, Elizabeth Wood Warren of Georgetown, DE, and Loren R. Eckardt of Braunschweig, Germany; 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 1pm Saturday, April 30, 2011 at Flynn Bros. Inc. Funeral Home, 13 Gates Ave., Schuylerville. Burial will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Schuylerville. Friends may call on Saturday from 12-1pm prior to the service. Memorials can be made to the Cardio-Pulmonary Unit (D1) at Saratoga Hospital, 211 Church St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
