SCHAGHTICOKE - John Thomas Durrant of Old Schaghticoke Road passed away Thursday, March 21, 2013, at his residence following a long illness. He was 68.

Born Dec. 23, 1944, in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Thomas and Jeannette (West) Durrant.
John was employed by Garden Way in Troy, where he was a design engineer.
In addition to his parents, John is reunited with his daughter, Emma Elizabeth Hemstreet Durrant; his brother, Thomas Durrant; and his father-in-law, Stanley W. Hemstreet.
Survivors include Aileen (Hemstreet) Durrant, whom he married Aug. 3, 1978, and their children, Greg (Michela) Durrant of Odenton, Md., and Alida Durrant of Schaghticoke; and his siblings, Beverly (Charles) Davies of Albany, Barbara (Nancy Schwarz) Durrant of North Las Vegas, Robert (Kate) Durrant of Green Island and Anne Marie (Peter) Tentis of Red Wing, Minn.; and his sister-in-law, Jackie Durrant of Cohoes, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome to the family home at 204 Old Schaghticoke Road in Schaghticoke at any time until the prayer service, which will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2013.
