Larry Bovee Obituary
Larry Bovee SARATOGA SPRINGS - Larry Bovee passed away on October 5, 2017 at his home. Born March 7, 1953, he the eldest son of Maurice T. (Mike) and Delores M. (Greive) (Beagle) Bovee. Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his grandparents, Warren and Eva (White) Bovee, and Joseph and Teresa (Rottell) Greive, a half brother James Beagle, a half sister Nancy (Beagle) (Sweet) Davis, and his two brothers Jerry and Keefe Bovee. He is survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. A graduate of Saratoga Springs High School, he served in the National Guard from 1972 to 1978 earning expert medals in M-16, M-60 and Hand Grenades. He received an honorable discharge in 1978 with a Rank of Spec 4. You can almost hear him say, “What a long, strange trip it’s been.” No matter what the conversation, he could always find a line from a song to fit right in. He worked for Saratoga Springs DPW from 1974 to 2008. He was very proud to serve his union brothers and sisters, and the city he loved. Larry always thought he was a very lucky person to get to know many famous people from sports, movies and television. His proudest accomplishment was when along with a bunch of kids, friends and neighbors, he took a local drum corps to a competitive level – first as the Hurricanes, then the Emerald Knights, and lastly Avant guard. He was an avid fan of the Yankees, Montreal Canadians, and the Buccaneers. Services are graveside at Greenridge Cemetery, Lincoln Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 12:00 PM.
