PHOENIX - Leon (Stub) Tony Zwijacz died at his home Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at the age of 82.
He was a resident of Phoenix, Ariz., for 35 years. He was born March 2, 1930, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., to Stanley and Rose Zwijacz.
Stub served in the Air Force and Navy for seven years. After the military, he started farming in Gansevoort, N.Y., and did that for several years before moving to Phoenix.
He is survived by his two daughters, Sandy Zwijacz Shah and Lisa Proulx and their families; siblings, Nellie Votroubek, John Zwijacz, Virginia Pillesky, Laddie Zwijacz and Richard Zwijacz; his nephew, Rick Zwijacz, and niece, Cheri Zwijacz, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Gladys Zwijacz; his life partner, Betty Zwijacz; his son, John Zwijacz; and his siblings, Brounislaus (Burt) Zwijacz, Helen Cassa, Gladys Hildebrant, Stanley Zwijacz, Joseph Zwijacz, Frank Zwijacz and Theodore Zwijacz.
At his request, his body has been donated to the University of Arizona, so there will be no services.
