Madeline Giugliano Saratoga Springs, NY - Madeline Giugliano, 92, passed away Monday, July 2, 2012, at Wesley Health Care Center. Born May 2, 1920, in Manhattan, she was the daughter of Luigi LaBianca and Anna Masiello, both from Bari, Italy. Madeline graduated from Brooklyn Tech High School with a diploma in Fashion Design and Dressmaking. She loved sewing and was a talented seamstress, proudly serving as the model-maker in her shop for many years. In 1939 she married Antonio Giugliano and they were together for 62 years until his death in 2001. They had three children, Louisa, Angelo and Louis, the first of whom, Louisa, tragically died at age 5. Madeline and Tony resided in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, until 1993, when they moved to Saratoga Springs. Madeline was a devoted mother and wife who enjoyed cooking for her whole family every holiday year round. She worked long hours to send her sons to college, believing in education and always eager herself to learn something new. She loved being a grandmother and rejoiced in watching her granddaughters grow up. Her favorite pastimes were doing crossword puzzles, playing cards, listening to Italian-American tenors and cooking wonderful Italian dishes. She was a member of St. Clement's Church and the Ladies of Charity. Madeline was loved by all whose lives she touched. In addition to her parents and her husband, Madeline was predeceased by her older brother, Michael. Survivors include her sons, Angelo of Saratoga Springs and Louis of Manhattan Beach, California; their wives, Conni (Chindblom) and Debbie; two sisters, Filomena of Virginia, and Josephine of New Jersey; granddaughters, Lisa, Carla, Jacqui, Lauren, Danica and Brittany and several nieces and nephews and their families. Madeline's family is very grateful for the excellent care given to her by her doctors and by the staff of Saratoga Hospital and Wesley.
