Robert C. Albrecht Glenville - Robert C. Albrecht, 79, of Hadel Rd., died suddenly on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, NY. He was born on February 8, 1934 in Schenectady and was the son of the late William J. and Susan (Sweeney) Albrecht. Mr. Albrecht graduated from Pittsfield, MA High School, class of 1951. He served in the US Army in Korea with an artillery unit of the 2nd infantry division. He was honorably discharged in 1955 and received the Korean Service and United States Service Medals. Robert attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst on the GI Bill of Rights. He graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1960 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He earned a Master of Science degree in Industrial Administration from Union Graduate School in Schenectady, NY. Robert attended the Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration. From 1962 to 1991 he was employed by New York State in the field of electronic data processing with various State agencies. He retired from the New York State Higher Education Service Corporation as Manager of Data Processing. Mr. Albrecht also worked for H and R Block as a tax preparer and was on the adjunct faculty of Schenectady County Community College. He was the former husband of Margaret (Patten) Albrecht; father of Stephanie (James) Laurine of Downingtown, PA and Jeffrey Albrecht of Glenville; grandfather of Robert, Reed and Ryan Laurine; brother of Edwin Albrecht and the late William J. Albrecht, Jr. and James J. Albrecht. Robert is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his dear friend, Mary Ann Camilli of Albany, NY. A celebration of life and liturgy will be held on Monday, November 18, 2013 at 1 PM at the Townley & Wheeler Funeral Home, 21Midline Road, Ballston Lake, NY. The Rev. Jerry Gingras, Pastor of Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville will officiate. Friends and relatives are invited to call on hour prior to the service from 12 Noon – 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment of his cremains with full military honors will be held on Monday at 3 PM in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY. In liue of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the , 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205 or to the charity of one’s choice.
