Rosemary Nikoloff

1938 - 2011 Obituary Condolences
MIDDLE FALLS - Rosemary Nikoloff, 72, of Middle Falls, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at the Indian River Nursing Home in Granville.
Born Dec. 12, 1938, in Middle Falls, she was the youngest of nine siblings and the daughter of Josephine and Sante Orsini.
Rosemary graduated from Greenwich Central School and she worked for many years there as a cashier and an assistant to the librarian. Throughout her years she also served as treasurer of the student activity account and as the head cheerleading coach. She had deep love for the school, its students and her colleagues.
After her retirement from GCS in 2000, Rosemary enjoyed an active social life and was a board member of the Greenwich Senior Citizens, where she also served as president for several years.
She was predeceased by her parents, Josephine and Sante Orsini; her brothers, John and Pete; and her sisters, Lucinda, Madeline, Orsella, Thelma, Joyce and Celia.
She is survived by her children, Peter, Stephanie and Christopher Nikoloff; her granddaughter, Glenda Bean; and her two grandsons, Alexander and Anthony Nikoloff.
Many go through life second-guessing who they are and how they have chosen to spend their time; not so with Rosemary. She loved her family, friends, hometown and school, and the broader community. She understood that humility was a strength and love and laughter mattered most. Her open, friendly nature put others first. Peaceful and secure in who she was, she allowed those around her to be themselves.
Relatives and friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, at the Flynn Brothers Funeral Home, 80 Main St., Greenwich.
