CORINTH - William L. Baker, better known to most as Billy Baker, has passed away after an incredibly short and courageous battle with cancer. He was 62.
Although his life was cut short, he certainly lived it to the fullest. Bill worked for many years at Pallette Stone Corp., retiring in 2010. He loved his job, as it gave him the opportunity to play with heavy equipment, which he loved to do.
When he wasn't at work, he was busy hunting, camping, ice fishing, working on his classic car or puttering around the yard, coming up with any excuse to drive his bucket loader.
Nothing meant more to Billy than his family. He leaves behind his loving wife of 38 years, Donna L. Baker; their children, Charlene Smith (Jason) of Saratoga, Robert Trentini (Tara) of Mechanicville, Sarah Grogan (Daniel) of Corinth and Billie Lynn Riley of Corinth; his mother, Geraldine S. Baker of Middle Grove; and his sisters, Joan McGrath (Gordon) of Greenfield and Loraine Eichorst (Edward) of Middle Grove. Billy is also survived by 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by his father, James Baker.
Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 25, 2013, at William J. Burke & Sons/Bussing & Cunniff Funeral Homes, 628 N. Broadway, Saratoga Springs, 584-5373.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
