James A. Gilchrist, more commonly known as "Jimmy," passed away March 7, 2014, at Saratoga Hospital. He was 65.
Jimmy was born June 24, 1948, in Albany, N.Y., to Teresa Gilchrist and the late Robert Gilchrist. After serving in the U.S. Navy from 1965 to 1969 on the USS Strong dd-768 as a boiler technician during the Vietnam War, Jimmy was employed at Saratoga Spa State Park as a plant utilities manager for more than 30 years. If Jimmy wasn't golfing, watching "Price is Right" with the guys at Quarters or simply helping out one of his many friends, he usually just enjoyed spending time in his recliner, having a Bud while watching TV with his loving wife, Freda Thompson Gilchrist.
