Patricia Hemsworth SARATOGA SPRINGS-Patricia (Callahan) Hemsworth, 55, beloved wife of William Hemsworth of Round Table Rd., passed away peacefully at home with her loving family by her side after a valiant battle with cancer. A native of Staten Island, NY, she had strong ties to Saratoga Springs, as many of her husband's family reside here. She has always loved the area and the family moved here permanently in 2006. She quickly integrated herself into the community and continued her career, which began in Staten Island, as a Special Ed teaching assistant at the Lake St. School. After she retired, she became an independent contractor for Gilchrist Group Health Care Media, working from home until her illness made it impossible to continue. Patricia earned an associate's degree, magna cum laude, and continued her education until the family relocated. She was a tireless, talented dynamo who excelled at everything she attempted, according to her husband. She was a gifted photographer with professional training and credits, culinary expert and possessed artistic, creative decorating skills. She loved entertaining family and friends and was a gracious, innovative hostess. She was loyal, loving wife to her husband William and dedicated mother to her daughters Courtney and Tara, and always placed family above all else. She is survived her her loving husband, William; devoted daughters, Courtney and Tara; mother, Joan Callahan; sisters, Judi Siuzdak and Jean Callahan Scarcella; brother, Edward J. Callahan, all of Staten island and brother William R. Callahan, a U.S. Navy Lieutenant serving in Japan. She will be missed by her husband's family, who considered her as their family, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Hemsworth, Diane and Leydon Hemsworth, Ann & Mike Burger and many nieces and nephews. Services were held in Staten Island, NY. The family wishes to extend sincere and heartfelt thanks to Community Hospice of Saratoga for her caring assistance during this ordeal. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
