Obituary Condolences

Maryellen Corbett Thompson, CORINTH-Maryellen Corbett Thompson, 62, of Corinth, passed away February 5, 2012 at the Fulton County Residential Health Care Facility following a long illness. Maryellen was born on December 26, 1949 in Yonkers, the daughter of the late Anne and Alfred Corbett. Maryellen was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Yonkers, NY, class of 1968. She also attended and graduated from Secretarial School. Maryellen worked throughout her career in several law offices as a Legal Secretary and also as a Teacher's Assistant at AuSable Valley Central School. Maryellen married Harold "Bud" Thompson Jr. on June 11, 1977. She was a loving wife and wonderful mother who devoted her life to raising her three children. She enjoyed arts and crafts and could often be found with knitting bag in hand wherever she was. Maryellen was caring and outgoing and it was not unusual for her to find friendship in people she had only just met. She had an uplifting voice and an unconquerable spirit. Maryellen was a devout Catholic and a member of the Holy Mother and Child Church of Corinth. Maryellen was predeceased by her parents, Ann and Alfred. She is survived by her husband, Harold "Bud" Thompson Jr. of Corinth; her three children, Catherine Thompson and fianc ,Jarett Emert of Burlington, VT, Daniel Thompson and partner Megan Turcotte of Chestertown, and Annemarie Agnew and husband Herb of Corinth, ; one grandson, Quinn Agnew of Corinth; two brothers, Edward Corbett and wife Susan of Yonkers, and William Corbett and wife Diane of Vooreheeseville; Maryellen is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 at the Holy Mother and Child Church, 405 Palmer Ave., Corinth with the Rev. Tony Childs, officiating. A Rite of Committal will be held at Ferndale Cemetery. Friends may call from 7-9 p.m., Tuesday at the Densmore Funeral Home, Inc., 7 Sherman Ave., Corinth. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers memorials take the form of donations to the , Mount Royal Plaza, 959 Rt. 9, Queensbury, NY 12804.
