Wow!! So sorry to hear this. I met Donny at the YMCA and was appreciative of his humble spirit. Donny later became a brief member of our running group, the Savannah Pacers, where he proved to be a natural runner. He took up bodybuilding and was a success there also. I am saddened to hear of his passing. May the family continue to be comforted by the Lord.

If you are very lucky, once in a while God will put people in your path that are destined to instantly have a positive impact on your life. For us, Donny was one of those people. We feel so blessed to have known him, and his unconditional kindness, and concern for others. We find comfort in that Donny finally found a way to "turn it over", and in what may seem a tragedy to those who loved him, could really be his way of fitting himself to be of maximum service to God, and the people around him. He and his family will be forever in our thoughts and prayers. Godspeed to our dear friend.

I met Donny at Bridges of Hope when he was helping my fiance get acclimated. I saw him again at a meeting a couple years later. I will always remember the light in his beautiful eyes and his uplifting spirit. God comfort his family and hold them tight. I'm so sorry.

I can't believe your gone, I don't wanna believe it. We been friends for quite a while...You were an awesome guy, father, best friend. I will always cherish the memories we shared together, there will not be a day that goes by I won't think of you sweetie. I will miss our talks. I've saved all our messages to remember you by...they were nothing but positive and inspiring. Love you and praying for everyone around you. I wish I could be in Savannah. I am just so happy that the last time we saw each other, we both were grinning ear to ear and full of energy and that it was in a meeting. :)

Teachers will say they don't have favorites, but as the years go by and there are certain students that we have fond memories of, I guess you could say we do have our favorites. Donny was one of them for me. Twenty three years ago I was his teacher at Hesse K8 beginning in third grade. He brought joy into the classroom and made me laugh, which is a good thing for teachers. I remember his hair:)but most of all his eyes. I know he will be missed by many that knew him. May God give you comfort at this time.

To the Family of Jerry McAtee, So sorry to hear of Donny's passing. I remember him swimming at his Grandmother's pool, Christine Noha during the summer months. My two children, David Jr. & Nancy learned to swim, along with myself one Summer at Christine's pool. We shared some good times with Donny around the pool. My heart goes out to all the family at this time of loss. My love and prayers are with you all. Rest in peace Donny !!!! May God give you all His strength you all will need in the days to come. Donny I am not sure what to say except that you were an amazing person. I have asked God over and over the lady few days to tell me WHY, but everyone says that GOD had better plans for you. We laughed and hung out at baseball games and practices of our younger brothers. There are so many things that I would love to tell you. The best part was the fact that we had not seen each other since middle school and when we went to dinner it was like we never missed a beat. I am so sad for you will be missed more than you wl ever know!

I am always saddened by the death of a good person. It is from this sadness that a feeling of gratitude emerges. I feel honored to have known them and blessed that their passing serves as a reminder to me that my time on this beautiful earth is limited and that I should seize the opportunity I have to forgive, share, explore, and love. I can think of no greater way to honor the loved ones who've passed on than to live this way.

Donny's leaving earth for his heavenly home is sad and seems untimely but God is never suprised about man's days. I pray comfort and healing to his family, especially his boys, his soon coming baby and those who will be caretakers of the legacy built into those children. He is already missed.
