Daisy Barbee - UNIVERSAL CITY, TX - Daisy Barbee passed away on April 22nd, 2016 at the age of 91. She was born on August 25th, 1924 in Savannah, Georgia to John and Alva (Johnson) Edmondson. She was a dental receptionist for Dr. Donald R. Smidt in Universal City, Texas for more than twenty years. She was also an active member of the First Baptist Church of Universal City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Freddie A. Barbee; brother, John Edmondson (Bootsie); and sister, Doris McKendree. She is survived by her daughter, Gail Barbee; brother, Michael Edmondson and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Friday, May 6, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. Sylvia Iris Frampton Bishop - BONNEAU BEACH, SC - Sylvia Iris Frampton Bishop, 90, of Bonneau Beach, SC, former owner and operator of the Bel Aire Motel in Tybee Island, GA, died Thursday evening in a local nursing home. Surviving are, her husband of 65 years, Major Charles J. Bishop, Tybee Island Police Dept., Ret; four daughters, Frances Wiley and her husband, Steven, of Gainesville, GA, Caroline B. Fore and her husband, Danny, of Jesup, GA, Melissa Simon of Bonneau Beach, and Nancy Hughes and her husband, Bill, of Moncks Corner; three sisters, Jean Clifford of Bath, England, Christine Byrd of Wilmington, NC, and Madelyn Frampton of Weston-Super-Mare, England; a brother, Donald Frampton of Newton Abbott, England; six grandchildren, Daniel J. Fore, Sarah E. Thornton, William Charles Hughes, Winston Chase Hughes, Nathaniel Simon, and Jordan E. Burnett, Thomasina - Savannah  
Thomasina Hollomon Burnett - SAVANNAH - Thomasina Hollomon Burnett, passed on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at the Habersham House Senior Residence, under the care of Gentivia Hospice. Mrs. Burnett, a native of Aiken, S.C., was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ida Devine Hollomon. She was also preceded in death by her six-year old daughter, Cynthia Burnett, and by four brothers and six sisters. She received her B.S. degree in Elementary Education from Savannah State College (now Savannah State University), and a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from South Carolina State University. She retired from the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System after thirty years of service as a teacher. Mrs. Burnett was a longtime member of St. Philip A.M.E. Church on M.L.K. BLVD, where she was once a choir member. Mrs. Burnett is survived by a loving and devoted sister, Mrs. Katherine Hollomon Redden; five nieces: Mattie B. McCoy (Roosevelt). Gloria Liggins, Doris Liggins, Deborah Liggins, and Brenda Bradley Bazilio (Kenneth); three nephews: Barney Hollomon (Lillian), Arthur (Linda) Bradley, Fred Liggins, Jr. and a host of other relatives. The funeral services will be held at St. Philip A.M.E. Church, 613 Martin Luther King Jr., BLVD., on Wednesday, May 4 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held in Beach Island S.C. at the Hollomon Cemetery. Cavanah, Claude - Guyton  
Mr. Claude Laverne Cavanah - GUYTON - Mr. Claude Laverne Cavanah, 84, passed away Friday, April 29, 2016 at Memorial Hospital. Mr. Laverne was born and lived in Guyton all of his life. He was a 1948 graduated from Guyton High School and retired from the U.S. Navy serving in the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He was a member of Guyton Christian Church, an elder of the church, member of the christian mens fellowship and was the 2014 layman of the year. He also served as a member of the Sons of the Confederate Veterans and the American Legion, Post 209. Survivors include his wife, Claudia Ann Cavanah of Guyton; sons, Claude Franklin Frankie Cavanah of Smyrna, Georgia and Charles Ernest Ernie of Mannheim, Germany; daughter, Maria Claudette Rogers of Bloomingdale; sisters, Abigail Knight of Brooklet and Irene McCormick of Savannah; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Riggs Funeral Home on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 11 a.m. with internment to follow in the Guyton Cemetery, with military honors.
