Music was her lifelong passion as was reading, politics and entertaining. She worked her entire adult life until retirement and was employed by Du Pont, Hercules Powder Co. and Universal Machine and Fabrication a business that she and her husband Thomas began in 1976. Upon retirement to Tybee Island she devoted herself to creating a beautiful home, a private oasis where she and her husband hosted memorable dinners, typically fund raising church events. She adored her close circle of dear friends and most notably a sorority of women friends known as The Sisterhood. Sybil loved to cook. She and her husband volunteered their time faithfully to the local soup kitchen, cooking up rich and nourishing meals. A memorial service is planned on April 27 from 7-9 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Savannah, 311 East Harris St., Savannah, GA 31401.
