Mrs. Betty West Peebles - SWAINSBORO - Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors announces the death of Mrs. Betty West Peebles, age 79 of Swainsboro, GA on Friday, October 05, 2012 at the Georgia Health Sciences University in Augusta, GA. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 8th at 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Bill Woodson officiating. Interment will be in the Swainsboro City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, October 7th from 6 until 8 PM . Pallbearers will be: Paul McDaniel, Ronald Sullivan, Wade Williams, Gary Mason, Denny Key, Richard Reddish, Jim Dekle, Gary Spence, Woody Nasworthy, Rosby McKenzie, and Gary Hart. Mrs. Peebles was a native of Emanuel County, she was owner and operator of The Georges Flower Shop in Swainsboro since 1959, and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Peebles was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Ray Peebles, a Sister Sue Nell Youmans of Swainsboro, Ga. and her parents Bycell and Ruby Brown West of Twin City, Ga. Survivors include: Three Daughters: Jennifer (Zdenek) Kuja of St. Simons Island, Ga.; Angelia (Tommy) Sconyers of Swainsboro, Ga. and Alecia Minton of Swainsboro, Ga.; One Son: Jeffrey (Starr) Peebles of Swainsboro, Ga.; One Sister: Mary Woodell of Stone Mountain, Ga.; One Brother: Wallace West of Morristown, Tennessee; Eight Grandchildren: Joe Applegate, Jason Minton, Marcus Kuja, Elijah Peebles, Carter Meadows, Elayah Peebles, Zach Minton and Austin Meadows; Four Great Grandchildren: Summer Peebles, Ella Applegate, Asher Kuja, and Candler Kuja.
