Mary Kelly

Mary Mimi Kelly - SAVANNAH - Mary Mimi Holton Kelly, 80, of Savannah, Ga. passed away on January 18, 2013 at the Presbyterian Home in Clinton, SC. She was born in Savannah on January 31, 1932 to Dr. and Mrs. Cornelius Fulmer Holton. Mimi attended St. Agnes School in Alexandria, Va., and attended the University of Georgia where she studied journalism. Mimi was predeceased by her husband, Albert Sidney Kelly, her parents, her brother, Robert Fulmer Holton, and her stepson, Bobby Freeman. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church and a longtime member of St. John's ECW. She also worked for many years as a real estate broker. Mimi had a passion for helping the sick, most especially through pet therapy for terminally ill children at Savannah hospitals with her beloved therapy dog, Peaches. She will also be remembered for her love for her family, her sense of humor, and her great love of Tybee Island. She is survived by her son, Chip Freeman and his wife Rebecca; her grandchildren, Holton, Andrew, Rebecca and Thomas; her stepchildren, Lane Freeman Asbill and Tommy Freeman; her nephews, Randy and Travis Holton, and her niece, Anita Holton Griffin. A memorial service will be held at 11 o'clock Friday morning, January 25th, at St John's Episcopal Church conducted by The Reverend Gavin G. Dunbar and The Reverend Craig E. O'Brien. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church - 1 West Macon St, Savannah, Ga. 31401 or to St. Francis Service Dogs - P. O. Box 19538, Roanoke, Va. 24019.
