Robert Shroyer

Robert E. Bob Shroyer - TYBEE ISLAND - Robert E. Bob Shroyer, 70, passed away Monday, April 15, 2013 at Memorial University Medical Center. He was born in New Albany, IN, son of the late Russel W. and Alice Brown Shroyer. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam War. Bob graduated from the Fire Protection School at Oklahoma State University and retired from Oakridge National Lab. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 154, an Eagle Scout, member of the Alee Shrine and a Mason in Southern Indiana. Bob was invited to the US Olympic trials on three different occasions to compete for a slot on the shooting team. He was the last surviving member of his family. Surviving are his wife of 24 years, Joan Addis Shroyer of Tybee Island and his beloved cat, Alexis. Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2013 in the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, conducted by his brother-in-law, Reverend Howard Addis.
