Fredrick (a.k.a. Bear) Howard August 16, 1949-September 3, 2011 - JACKSONVILLE, FL - Fredrick (a.k.a. Bear) Howard peacefully died on Saturday, September 3, 2011 in Jacksonville, Florida. He is survived by his daughter, Virginia Howard of Savannah, his four brothers, Michael, Harold, Glen and Kenney Howard and families, and many friends. Bear was a member of the 1-75th U.S. Army Airborne Ranger Division. He received the National Defense Service Metal, the Combat Infantrymans Badge, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and Service Medal and the prestigious and courageous, Purple Heart. He was an award winning technician for Toyota for over 25 years. He was a caring son, father and brother. He loved to ride his Harley, be in nature and share tall tales with friends.There will be an oceanside memorial on Tybee, October 1st. 912.484.2141 for service info.
