Raymond G. Robbie Robertson - WALTERBORO, SC - Raymond G. Robbie Robertson, 89, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Veterans Victory House Nursing Home. He was born May 9, 1924 in Savannah, Georgia, son of the late John Stewart Robertson and Sybilla Hansen Robertson. He graduated from Savannah High School and attended the University of Georgia. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army receiving the Purple Heart and five Bronze Stars. He was a longtime resident of Savannah until moving to Isle of Palms, South Carolina in 2002. He was retired from American Cyanamid and Kemira. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee. He was a member of American Legion Post 184 and Disabled American Veterans Chapter 8. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Nichols Robertson and brothers Edgar Robertson, Joe Robertson, Mike Robertson, Gilbert Robertson, Sig Robertson and Jack Robertson. He is survived by two sons, Raymond G. Greg Robertson Jr. (Mary) of Savannah, GA; Christopher N. Robertson of Lilburn, GA; two daughters, Suzanne R. Brown (Chris) of Isle of Palms, SC; Kathleen Robertson of Savannah, GA; one brother, James F. Robertson of Savannah, GA; two sister-in-law, Mary Frances Robertson and Sarah N. Pinckney (Miles) all of Savannah; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2013 with a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial: 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 11, 2013 at St. James Catholic Church. Burial: The Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
