Anna Shadel Obituary

Anna Schaeffer Shadel - SAVANNAH - Anna Schaeffer Shadel, 96, died peacefully on Wednesday, December 30, 2009 under the care of Hospice Savannah. Mrs. Shadel was born in Redding, PA on September 26, 1913, the daughter of the late Irwin and Edna Mae Boynton Schaeffer. Anna had resided in Savannah for the last year and a half, previously residing in Annapolis, MD for many years. She was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Mrs. Shadel was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Donald F. Shadel. She is survived by her daughter, Lynn A. McLauchlan of Savannah, GA; son, Donald L. Shadel of Columbia, SC; brother, James F. Boynton of Monroe Township, NJ; granddaughter, Angela E. Richardson and great-grandchildren, Cullen and Colton Richardson. A memorial service will be held on January 11, 2010. Further details of the service will be announced. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Savannah, P.O. I was deeply saddened to hear of Anna's death. She was such an inspiration to so many people.

I know my life was certainly enriched by having met and talked with her. I will always hold fond memories of her.
