Anthony Mastrianni Obituary
Anthony Mastrianni - SAVANNAH - Anthony Mastrianni, 60, died peacefully at Emory University Hospital on April 29, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Dominic and the late Anne Mastrianni. Born on December 12, 1952 in Plainfield, New Jersey, he attended Union Catholic Boys School (Class of 1970) and Rutgers University, from which he earned a Bachelors in Civil Engineering. After moving to Georgia, Anthony found his true calling as a beloved and gifted educator in the Effingham County School System, teaching of math, and of life, to students who found him both demanding and irresistibly lovable. He was a member of Rincon United Methodist Church and was dedicated to community and school-based coaching roles for many years. Anthony had a lifelong love for the game of golf, an insatiable curiosity for engineering, and entertained with his songs and wit. He loved his family and his students dearly. Anthony is survived by his family, Monica, Patrick and Alyssa Mastrianni, sisters, Andrea Hodge and Valerie Mastrianni, nieces, Leslie Hodge Bryant, April and Robin Diffenderfer and nephews, Charles Hodge and Will Diffenderfer. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, from 5:00 - 6:30 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah GA, followed by a service celebrating Anthony's life at 6:30.
