Aspasia George Simon - SAVANNAH - Aspasia George Simon, 91, of Savannah, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Savannah, Ga., and was preceded in death by her husand of 53 years, Charles Peter Simon, her parents, Frank George and Matilda Miller George, and her brother, Andrew Frank George. She was a graduate of Savannah High School, and was a member of St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, where she taught Sunday School and was a GOYA advisor. She was also a member of St. Barbara's Philoptochos, Daughters of Penelope, and Maids of Athena. She worked tirelessly at the Greek Festival, Night in Old Savannah, catering functions at the Hellenic Center and decorating for church functions. She loved all animals - dogs, cats, birds, fish, chickens, rabbits, and horses. She loved plants, flowers, crocheting, embroidering, cooking, fishing, and children. She served as a cheerleader for her son's baseball team, and she was also a substitute coach for the team. She could be found working at the concession stand during the games. She was a loyal Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons Fan. Her faith, friendship and unconditional love, were an inspiration to her family and friends, who she loved with all her heart. She was a sweet and dear Mother with a heart of kindness, strength, patience and grace. She guided and inspired her children. Fond memories will always keep her near. We will cherish her love forever. No one can ever take her place. We will miss her greatly, and she will always be in our hearts. She is survived by a son, Peter Frank Simon, a daughter and son in law, Stella and Jimmy Moore, brother, Nicholas Frank George, 2 sisters in law, Patricia George and Ruth Simon all of Savannah, Ga, and two Godchildren, Denis George and Barbara Hall , several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral Services: 1:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, with Father Vasile Mihai, and Father John Caparisos, officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery, Remembranes: St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church (Designated Donation), 14 West Anderson St., Savannah, Ga 31401.
