Betty Jean (Baird) Baumgardner - RICHMOND HILL - Betty Jean (Baird) Baumgardner, 89, died at Hospice Savannah on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, James Baumgardner; cherished sister, Mary Brindle; loving children Jo Ann Avellone (Bill), Lisa Freeman (Gary), and Chuck Baumgardner (Ruth); beloved grandchildren Monica Regan (Patrick), James Avellone (Claire), Mary Jean Treese (Mitch), Mary Beth Macias (Michael), Virginia Wiedower (Brandon), Ellen Hembree (Brandon), Emily Baumgardner, and Evelyn Baumgardner; and adoring great-grandchildren Rowdy, Kade, Matthew, Fiona, Luke and William. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Freda Baird and grandson, CAPT Matthew Freeman, USMC. For many decades she was the matriarch of her family. Her legacy is her loving kindness and wisdom. She was a member of the Yorktown Chapter of the DAR, a PEO sister, a member of Richmond Hill United Methodist Church and a past member of Crooks United Methodist Church of Yorktown, VA.
