Betty Wyll "Lucy" Sammons - BAXLEY - Betty Wyll "Lucy" Sammons, 80, died Friday, May 7, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Sammons was born November 3, 1929 in Toombs County to the late John Clarence and Sadie Catherine Jones Dees. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Queen Esther Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Franklin Sammons and brothers, Bobby and Dwight Dees. Survivors are: 3 daughters, Gilda Gray, Vicki Jackson Rich and husband Glenn Rich and Sybil Branch and husband Richard T. Branch; 4 grandchildren, Lucky Wade Jackson, Jr., Natalie Gray, Yates Branch and Skylar Branch; 6 great grandchildren, Cody Gray, Laura Jackson, Heath Jackson, Casey Moses, Cole Gray and Bella Jackson; 5 sisters, Marion Dixon, Becky Vaughn, Jackie Foskey, and Johnny Margaret Dees, JoAnn Peterson all of Vidalia; 3 brothers, Johnny Dees of Baxley, Aubrey Dees and Jerry Dees both of Cedar Crossing. Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 9, at 3;00 pm from the chapel of Swain Funeral Home. Interment: Pine Crest Cemetery in Vidalia. Swain Funeral Home, Inc.
