Donn Robert Oberlin - MIDWAY- Donn Robert Oberlin, 70, of Midway passed away on November 11, 2012. Donn was born in Fort Wayne, IN. He was employed as a Warehouse Manager in Albany and Columbus, GA before accepting a position with the Federal Aviation Administration from which he later retired. He was an avid traveler, licensed ham radio operator (KK4AMD), a retired Bryan County Sheriff's Deputy and retired member of the Richmond Hill Volunteer Fire Department. He will be remembered as someone who believed that Life is not about the number of breaths we take but by the moments that take our breath away. Donn was a big supporter of our veterans. He is sadly missed by his wife, Denise Oberlin of Midway; sister, Patricia Hartman of Monroeville, IN; children and step-children, Tamara Oberlin Steere (Stephen) of Richmond Hill; Beth Ann Oberlin Ridgway (Jerry) of Kernersville, NC; Jason Gaydosh of Hurst, TX; Laura Gaydosh Combs (Robert) of Hurst, TX; and his grandchildren, Emily Steere, Joshua Ridgway and Jordan Ridgway, all of which to whom he was extremely devoted. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert Oberlin and Ruth (Simmons) Oberlin. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, November 15, 2012, Richmond Hill Funeral Home, Richmond Hill. My deepest condolences to the family. I never got a chance to meet Don face to face but talked with him on the radio several times and his friendly nature and kindness was always apparent. I know he was a good man and will be missed, my prayers are with you.
