Mr. George Axon,, Sr. - SAVANNAH - Mr. George Axon Sr., 89, entered eternal rest on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Genisis Personal Care Home under Hospice. He was a native of Riceboro, GA and lived in Savannah many years. He retired from the Seaboard Coastline Railroad after many years. He was a member of New Vision Revival Center and served as a Deacon. He was a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Irene Axon, his wife, Carrie Mae Grant Axon, two children, George Axon, Jr. and Emma Axon Floyd. Survivors are: two daughters, Vivian Floyd and Latarsha Hopkins, three sons, Demery Axon, Richard Axon (Edwina), and Clarence Axon (Lenora), 16 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
