Joseph A. Big Irish Brinson - POOLER - Joseph Anthony Big Irish Brinson, 52, passed away Thursday, February 7, 2013, at Hospice Savannah. Born in Savannah, Georgia on October 17, 1960, he was a son of the late James Elton Brinson and the late Mary Lee Dean Brinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Johnny Hall. Joe graduated from Benedictine Military School and attended Armstrong College. Joe was employed for more than 30 years in the maritime industry in Savannah before ending his career with the family at Howard Sheppard, Inc. Survivors include his fianc , Becky Deal of Savannah; two sons, Jonathon Brinson of New York City, New York and Joseph Brinson Jr. (Christine) of Charleston, SC; one brother, Jim Brinson (Sherry) of Midland, GA; one sister, Jane Hall of Pooler; one grandchild, Lily Ann Brinson, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 o'clock Monday at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue. The funeral service will be held at 11 o'clock Tuesday morning in the chapel of Gamble Funeral Service conducted by Father Robert E. Chaney. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
