Louis Reiser Obituary

Louis G. "Jerry" Reiser - SAVANNAH - Louis G. "Jerry" Reiser, 78, died Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah. Born in Buffalo, New York on May 22, 1930, he was the son of the late Cecelia and Louis G. Reiser, Sr. He married Rose Marie Becker in Buffalo on June 6, 1953. Jerry was a United States Army veteran, serving in Germany from 1953-1955. An avid sports enthusiast, Jerry coached Little League Baseball for his sons' teams as well as others. He was a member of the Landings Golf Club for over thirty years. Jerry worked for forty seven years with Continental Grain, serving in Buffalo, NY, Toledo, OH, Columbus, OH, Norfolk, VA and Savannah, GA. He retired in 1997 when the facility in Savannah closed. He was also a member and officer of the Grain Exchange. Jerry was a member of St. James Catholic Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Reiser, his sister, Elizabeth Ann Murray, and his son, Michael Reiser. Surviving are his wife of fifty-five years, Rose M. Reiser of Savannah; his son, Daniel Reiser of Savannah; a daughter-in-law, M. Shawn Reiser of Winchester, VA; granddaughter, Sarah Reiser of Texas; grandson, Patrick Reiser of Winchester, VA; and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. A private Memorial Mass will be celebrated by his brother-in-law, The Reverend Msgr. Vincent J. Becker, in Buffalo, NY at a later date. Dear Rose and Dan,
We were so sorry to hear about Jerry's passing. We have many fond memories of time spent with you both at Continental Grain functions, and Jim has always had so much respect for Jerry's work and guidance at Continental. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Dearest Rose and Dan,
Words can't tell you how badly we feel that you are having this sadness again so soon,we will always remember Jerry in the warmest of ways.
