Marie Ann Cook Malfatti - SAVANNAH - Marie Ann Cook Malfatti, 73, of Savannah, died Monday, Jan 21, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Long Island, New York, and was a retired Music Teacher, having taught in the Chatham County School System for many years. She taught music in many Chatham County Schools, including Jacob G. Smith, Port Wentworth, Charles Ellis, Bartow, Islands, and several others. Marie started the String Music Program in Jacob G. Smith School. Marie loved her music and her students. Marie served as Organist for about 30 years at Trinity Lutheran Church, having played until Sunday for the Worship Services at her church. She is survived by 2 daughters, Theresa Tracy Sutphin (Christopher) of Darlington, SC; and Jennifer Wolfe (Ronald) of Savannah, Ga; a sister in law, Judy Cook of Savannah, Ga; 2 grandsons, Ryan Smith of Savannah, Ga., and Andrew Sutphin of Darlington, S.C. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Fairhaven Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Services: 10 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. John Hopkins, officiating. Mrs. Malfatti will be taken to the church at 8:30 a.m. to lie in state on Thursday. Interment: Greenwich Cemetery. Remembrances: Trinity Lutheran Church, 12391 Mercy Blvd, Savannah, Ga 31419.
