Mary Asprea Andeppa - WILMINGTON ISLAND - Mary Asprea Andeppa, 91, of Wilmington Island, Savannah, passed away peacefully, with family by her side, on Sunday, November 25, 2012 in Rock Island, Illinois, where she had lived for the past three months. Mary was born and raised in Savannah, the youngest daughter of Jerry and Lucia Asprea Andeppa. She was the manager of her family's grocery store in Savannah and a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. For many years, Mary was an active member of St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church in Savannah, where she taught Sunday School and volunteered doing charitable work. Mary was a resident of Wilmington Island for the past 35 years. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Denny Andeppa, and sisters, Ethel Maginas and Theodora Andeppa. She is survived by her nephews: Fr. Andrew (wife Elaine) Maginas, of West Palm Beach, Florida; Spero (wife Irene) Maginas, who is also her godson, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Stephen (wife Bobette) Maginas, of Rock Island, Illinois. Also surviving are one great-niece, Camille Maginas, and five great-nephews: Angelo (wife Mary) Maginas and son, Andreas; Arthur (wife Anastasia) Maginas and daughter Elisavet; Emmanuel Maginas; Ren Maginas; and Egan Maginas. Visitation will be at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, 14 W. Anderson St., Savannah, on Monday, December 3, from 12 noon (Trisagion prayers at 12:30) until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Bonaventure Cemetery.
