Mildred Holt Whitaker - BAXLEY- Mildred Holt Whitaker, 96, died Saturday, April 10, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Whitaker was born October 4, 1913 in Wilcox County to the late Dr. James Thomas Holt and Mittie Mixon Holt. She was a member of the First Baptist Church where she served in various positions. Mrs. Whitaker was a member of the Baxley Woman's Club and various Bridge Clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Arthur Whitaker, sister, Lucille Holt Fisher and 2 brothers, James Thomas Holt, Jr. and Abner Bennett Holt. Survivors: 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Mickey Lewis of Baxley and Pendry and Wayne Rountree of Sylvania; 6 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. Visitation: will be one hour prior to funeral service. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 12, 2010 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home. Interment: Omega Cemetery.
