Waycross - Myrtice Aspinwall Bennett, 94, died Friday morning at Baptist Village after a brief illness. She was a native of Appling County and had lived in Waycross for most of her life. After raising her children as a seamstress and homemaker she worked with her husband Louis J. Bennett at Bennett Brothers. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Susannah Wesley Sunday School Class. Her parents were the late Ellis and Mattie Belle Ammons Aspinwall. In addition to her husband she was also preceded in death by her daughter Blanche Snodgrass, two grandchildren, David Sellers and Donnie Sellers. Survivors include one son James "Boe" Lawhorne, wife Flo, Fayetteville, GA, four sisters, Mabel Owens, Odum, GA, Maude Karaway, Rock Island, Illinois, Melba Aldrich and Mary Herndon, both of Appling County, six grandchildren, Jimmy Sellers, Jacksonville, Jay Lawhorne, Hoboken, Mary Kellie Landoll, Ponte Vedra, FL, Anna Frances Mangum, Blackshear, Eugenia Petty, Brunswick, Joey Snodgrass, West Monroe, LA, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Visitation: 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial: Oakland Cemetery.
