It has been many years since I have seen Tricia. I have many memoies of her as when I was a little girl. My grandmother, Mrs. Bing lived on Ray Street off of Grange Road in Port Wentworth, Ga. Tricia lived there also. This community was quaint gathering of mostly family and close friends that were considered family...back in the day. Tricia had the biggest prettiest smile. And out of that smile came the lovliest of songs. She was not bashful either. She would sing at the drop of a dime. Many times, my grandmother, Mrs. Bing would ask her to sing and Tricia stood there at the ole homestead of 12 Ray Street and sang unabashed and without blinking she would open the gates of heaven with song. I reconized at my early age that Tricia loved to sing! I'd be walking down Ray Street for one reason or another and out of no where, I'd hear Tricia belting out songs to gloify the Lord and savior. And she would put her all and all into it. And most times when she sang, I recall that I stood still and I was in awe because she had a promising voice. I recall as I walked down Ray St. either going to Uncle Coy's house, or to see Pam and Ms. Rosa Lee or to Cleveland Tate's store on the corner, I could hear Tricia singing aloud while performing household chores. I recall that I just thought this was the greatest sound one could hear in the mist of the humid warm air of Ray Street. That air as I recalled was filled with the numerous smells. Like the smell of the marshes along the Savannah River, the smell of all kinds of good things to eat cooking in the kitchens of those ole houses: just permeating the air, the smell of the county dirt, green grass. The sounds of the blue jays and robins flying overhead or the whispers of dragon flies as they passed your ears. Yes, I remember Ray Street well and Tricia was a vital part of Ray Street. Tricia was blessed with these same memoies of which she came from. It would be impossible for me to ever forget her or that angelic voice. I know in my heart there comes a time such as this. And after that grand transition to the heavens, memories are all that's left. What a blessing! I give God the glory for these memories I have which included her in them.

To the Staten & Lawrence family:

To have known Patricia has been a blessing. Her couregous battle and faith in God has been a great testimony. The anointing in her voice was ever so rich. She lived the life that she sang about. Yes, she will be greatly missed. Her legacy and the lesson that we could all remember is a blessing. II Timoth 4:6-8; For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. Patricia was a person that truly loved the Lord, her family and her church. What a beautiful person she was. To the family, when time seems unbearable look to the Lord for strength, he is a present help when we need a strong tower to lean on. Continue to trust the Lord and he will see you through. God bless and keep you is our prayer.

To The Staten and Lawrence Families,

Our prayers are with both families. I've known Tricia since I was a little girl and what I remembered about her most was the beautiful strong voice. Always standing on the front row of Clifton Baptist Church at the end on the left side doing what she did best and that was sing. Tricia fought a long and hard battle but now she's in a better place. One song I remember best " I've got a testimony " and oh, what a testimony did she have. She will be missed but always loved. Always stay strong in the Lord and he will do the rest.

To The Staten And Lawrence Families:

I was saddened to hear in the homegoing of Patricia. She was a beautiful person and was an inspiration to me. She did not give up until the Lord Jesus Christ called her to come from time into eternity. I pray that her family will find comfort in God's Word-- The Holy Bible. John 11:25vs says, " Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:26vs says And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believeth thou this?
May God comfort each of you is my prayer.

To the Staten & Lawrence Families:
We mourn the loss of our classmate, Patricia. She always had a beautiful spirit and was just a kind person. Patricia graced us with her awesome voice at our class reunion in 2006. Although Patricia "officially" graduated from Groves High, she will forever be our classmate and we will truly miss her.
You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Blessings,

Tricia, was truly a wonderful person we have shared many laughs over the years at The Sugar Refinery during breaks in the old number six warehouse and on the second floor. We have also shared many church anniversaries and choir anniversaries. Tricia had a beautiful gift of song and her voice will be a wonderful addition to the Heavenly Choir. Tricia has been through a lot and God knew she was tired and God will not put more on you than you can bear. I know you will miss her but may your memories comfort you during the hard times. She truly loved "Vonte" and Staten. She talked about you often. Thank God for you and the time you spent taking care of her. Our condolences to the entire family. You are in our prayers. Love,
