Dear Mrs. Madeline,
Mr. Garbutt was an amazing man. His knowledge and memory of the building of the church always fascinated me!
A true southern gentleman.

Dear Mrs. Garbutt & family,
I want to express my sympathy and extend my prayers to you and your family. When I was in Vidalia, I would often see and talk to Mr. Garbutt on my walks through your property. He was a kind and good man. I always admired his energy and work ethic. I also want to say what a beautiful witness to marriage you and your husband have been to me and the community. God Bless you all.
