Craig, I have thought of you so often over the years. I remember your sense of humor, your kindness, and how much you wanted to succeed in Spanish. I remember that you had to change your schedule, you didn't want to, & I promised to tell your new teacher what a hard worker you were. You were one of those kids that one
never forgets, who are that endearing. Thank you for coming back to talk to kids and encouraging them. Thank you also for your letters from Iraq. It was great to hear that you were actually able to use your Spanish with an Iraqi & that students should study hard because you never know when a subject could be of use.
Craig, you are a testament to your upbringing and I want your family to know that you made a difference in this world. God bless you. May we meet again.

I don't even know what to say except you were my boy. Kept me afloat throughout the deployment... did your best to keep me grounded here in the states. That was normal for you. Your personality went unmatched. There are few men or women that I've worked with that I call friend. You were definately one of them. Thank You for all that you've done. You are missed.

TO THE FAMILY, I AM SO SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. HE WAS A GRETA GUY. ALWAYS NICE AND POLITE. HE HAD A LOVE FOR WHAT HE DID AND BROUGHT SMILES TO MANY A PEOPLE. I WORKED WITH HIM WHILE I WAS A CIVILIAN CONTRACT EMPLOYEE AND THE FONDEST MEMORY I HAVE OF HIM WAS THIS ONE TIME WE HAD TO GO OUT TO THE RANGE TO WORK..LOL HE BROUGHT HIS PORTABLE GRILL AND MADE SURE WE ALL HAD SOME GOOD FOOD TO EAT. I THOUGHT IT WAS THE SWEETEST THING. I WILL REMEMEBR HIS LAUGHA ND HIS SMILE. I HOPE OTHERS WILL KEEP WITH THEM THE GOOD TIMES THEY HAD. HE IS GONE BUT WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN AND I WILL MISS HIM SO. GOD BLESS YOU ALL! RIP SGT CRAIG

He would always go out of his way to help people, even those he didn't even know. I had fallen in love with him because of that and I am a little better person because of the time I spent with him. His father, I know, is very proud of him, if only you were able to see how much he helped our Soldiers, and his mother, I know, she is proud, for she has already seen everything he has done for us.

On behalf of the Bandido Charlie Association (Company C, 1 Battalion, 16th Infantry), I extend my heartfelt condolences on the loss of your son, grandson, brother and nephew. In the words of LTC Smith, his Battalion Commander, "SGT Gaglia was well known and well liked within the Battalion and had numerous friends in the medical community on Fort Riley. SGT Gaglia our best medic and was often requested by name to cover the line companies training. "

There is no finer tribute to the character of a man than the respect of his peers.

"Paco,"
When students write to me years later,
they always apologize for not having done better in class. What they fail to realize is that teachers don't remember them for their achievements so much as what is in their hearts.
You had the kindest heart. Do you remember when you spent days trying to figure out how to remove the dry erase marker from my cabinet? I was really upset about it and you brought in cleaners, WD-40, etc. Nothing worked until you figured out that you could just erase it. You were the kind of kid who endeared yourself to everyone you knew. Vaya con Dios, Paco.

I am so sad for the loss of this precious young man. I am so proud of him and all of his accomplishments and for his service in protecting our country. He was a wonderful person inside and out. He is now with his mom whom he loved dearly. I pray for Scott and Joe that our Lord will give them strength to get through is tragic time.

Craig was definitely one of sweetest guys I've ever had a chance to meet. He was a friend and classmate to my son, Patrick, who graduated with him from SCPS in 2003. The last time I saw Craig was in Athens when he came up for a game and stayed at my son's apartment for the weekend. I think they had a great time together. I know God had a special need for him in heaven for him to be taken away from us this young. Craig, just know that we will all look forward to seeing you again some day. In the meantime, rest in peace there and enjoy reuniting with your mom.
