Ruby Lee Ponder Burgest

Mother Ruby Lee Ponder Burgest - SAVANNAH - Ruby Lee passed away Sunday, September 4, 2011. She was a member of Eden Missionary Baptist Church, Eden Georgia. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Lathal Ponder, Sr. who preceded her in death. To this union six children were born. She subsequently married Ulysses Burgest who also preceded her in death. She leaves to cherish her memories four daughters and two sons: Marilyn Floyd, Vivian Ponder, Cathie J. Griffin and Ronnie Ponder (Sylvia), Carolyn Artis (Melvin), and Lathal Ponder, Jr., (Patricia). Seven sisters Catherine Sneed, Bernice Manning and Annie Doris Powell (Venus), Marie Scott (Joseph), Clara Mack, Mary Lee Hooks, Joanne Smith; three brothers: CD Grant, Roy Smith (Deloris), Nathaniel Smith; fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She also leaves a host of nephews, nieces and cousins including a special niece Sarahlyn U. Argrow, and a special cousin Daisy Mae Frazier; one brother in law Bobby T. Ponder, one sister in law, Carolyn Ponder and a host of aunts, uncles and friends. Visitation: 1-6pm Friday, at Smalls Funeral Home. Funeral: 11am Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the Eden Missionary Baptist Church of Eden GA. She will lie in state from 10am untill hour of service. No viewing after service.
