John W.H. Phillips - MELDRIM - John W.H. Phillips, 65, of Meldrim went to be the Lord on Thursday, September 19, 2013. He was born in Ontario, Canada and was preceded in death by his father, John W. (Bill) Phillips. John was a retired Sergeant from the US Army and was retired from Owens Corning. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Airhead Motorcycle Club. He loved his family very much, riding his motorcycle and going on bike rally adventures. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Cason Phillips; son, John W.H. Phillips, II; daughters, Jackie Phillips Dasher (Tim), Jessica Phillips Hight (Carl) and Patricia Wilson (Dago). Also his mother Edna Raper Phillips and brothers Robert Phillips, Daniel Phillips, Thomas Phillips (Sherry) and Edward Phillips (Sandy), and seven grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Sunday, September 22, 2013 from 3-5 p.m. at Fairhaven Funeral Home in Garden City. A memorial service will be Monday, September 23, 2013 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
