Teresa Bolton Tatum - SAVANNAH - Teresa Bolton Tatum, 92, passed away Thursday, July 17th, 2014 at Spanish Oaks Hospice in Savannah, Georgia. She was born June 23, 1922 in Savannah and lived in Savannah for most of her life. She was the daughter of Miles Warren Bolton and Teresa Doyle Bolton McBride and step-daughter of John M. McBride. Teresa graduated from Savannah High School in 1940 and graduated as a registered nurse from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in the class of 1943. She married Jeptha C. Tatum, Jr. of Savannah in 1943 and they raised six children. Teresa was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church, a charter member of their Council of Catholic Women and a recipient of the Gartland service award. She is survived by her six children: Jeptha C. Tatum III (Linda) of Livingston, Texas; Teresa Terry Tatum Wilkins (James) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; John M. Tatum (Pamela) of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; Robert L. Tatum (Patty) of Avery County, North Carolina and of Cape Canaveral, Florida; Karen Tatum Ternes (Dave) of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia; and James D. Tatum (Terri) of Savannah; and former daughter-in-law, Eileen Tatum, 15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Teresa was predeceased by J.C. Tatum, Jr., her husband of 55 years, as well as by her sister, Catherine Bolton Pourciau Kerwin of Florida and her brother Miles Warren Bolton, Jr., of Pennsylvania. Teresa will be missed by her family, friends including all of those who celebrated her 90th birthday with her in the summer of 2012. The family is particularly grateful for the kindness and care shown by Sally Arman, the Beaulieu Beauties, and the staff of Spanish Oaks Retreat and Hospice. There will be a Rosary service at 5:30 P.M. and visitation from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Sunday, July 20 at Fairhaven Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel Savannah, Georgia. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 21 at St. James Catholic Church and internment will be at Greenwich Cemetery.
