Clifford Lester Bragg, Jr. - SPRINGFIELD - Lester Bragg, 91, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 under the care of Spanish Oaks Hospice. He was born September 17, 1922 in Springfield, GA to Blanche Edwards and Clifford L. Bragg, Sr. He was a lifelong member of Turkey Branch United Methodist Church. Lester served his country during WWII in the 30th MP Battalion. He served in Europe and the African Coast. He was past Commander of American Legion Post #209. He was in the poultry and cattle business for a number of years. He married Gladys Marie Smith in 1943 and was married 53 years until her death in 1996. Lester was also preceded in death by his 2nd wife, Louise Atkins Bragg; his sisters, Glennie Ree Bailey and Margaret Doyle; and his daughter-in-law, Teresa Bragg. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Buzzie Morgan; his son and daughter-in-law, Terrill and Jenise Bragg; grandchildren, Kelley (Tom) McEnaney, Christy (Chris) Baker, Blake Kessler, and Ashley (Libby) Kessler; great-grandchildren, Cody and Ryan McEnaney, Clayton and Carly Baker, and Gavin Kessler. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday at Turkey Branch United Methodist Church followed by funeral services at 12 noon. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
