Rev. Dr. L. Perry McNeal - DAISY - Rev. Dr. Lorenzo Perry McNeal is a native of Evans County, Daisy, Georgia. He received his early education in the public schools of Evans County. Dr. McNeal attended Savannah State College; Johnson C. Seminary and he received his Doctorate of Ministry from Union Theological Seminary. He has several certificates of merit and completion from the University of Georgia and Armstrong State College. He was the Pastor of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church for the forty-one (41) years, and the Historic Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church for forty-two (42) years. For 46-years, Dr. McNeal has pastured churches in Savannah, Albany, Patterson, Waycross, Sylvania, Reidsville and Cobbtown. He served as Moderator of the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Association for 21 years and 33 years as Vice-Moderator of the Tattnall Missionary Baptist Association. Dr. McNeal also served as Regional Vice President of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, Inc. representing a membership of over 550,000 Black Baptists in Georgia. Dr. McNeal was also an instructor for the Moderator Division of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, Inc. He has served the General Missionary Baptist Convention of GA Inc. as Public Relations Director, Missions Direction both Home and Foreign, and Promotional Secretary for all of the 12 Districts. He was currently serving as the Regional Vice President for Districts One, Two and Eleven. Which are the larger Districts of the Convention. Over his 46 years plus in the Ministry he has served as a Pastor's Pastor to many young men in the Ministry. He devoted long and untiring hours in giving simple down to earth advise. Pastor leaves to cherish his memories; mother, Mother Bernice Covington; two sons, J. Vernard Flowers (Lisa), James S. Flowers, Sr. (Valeria); brothers, Calvin Riley (Eddie Mae), Alexander McNeal (Hazel), Lavon McNeal, Tony McNeal; sisters, Wanda Thornton (Leon), Tammy Thomas (Donald); uncle, Cleveland Brewton, Archie McNeal (Agnes), Tommie McNeal, Anthony Minor; aunts, Pastor Deloris Young (Joseph), Jennie Ruth McNeal, Luella McNeal, 7 grands, 9 great-grands, and host of nieces, nephews, Godchildren, cousins, and friends.
