William Morgan Strickland - CLAXTON - William Morgan Strickland, 70, passed away May 9, 2012, after an extended illness, under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice. The Bryan County native had resided in Evans County for most of his life. He was of Baptist faith, a devoted father, grandfather and loving husband. He was preceded in death by his father, John Leroy Strickland and a grandson, Brandon Strickland. Survivors: his wife, Linda Strickland of Claxton; mother, Sally Strickland Hendrix of Claxton; five sons, Tommy (Pam) Strickland of Glennville, Greg (Tammie) Strickland of Metter, Lonnie (Cathy) Strickland of Statesboro, Donnie Strickland of Glennville and Lindsey (Kiesha) Strickland of Claxton; two daughters, Brigitte Medlock of Byron, Ga., and Rene' Strickland of Claxton; one brother, John 'Pete' (Stephanie) Strickland, Jr., of Claxton; one sister, Linda S. (Tommy) Thompson of Scotland Neck, N.C.; eleven grandchildren, Lance Strickland, Heather S. Womack, Candice S. Grooms, Sydney Strickland, Elizabeth Strickland, Dewaine Strickland, Breeanna Daughtry, Payton Mingle, Joe Gibson, Jr., Destiny Gibson and Carolyn Duncan; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
