Arthur Marson - GLEN ALLEN, VA - Arthur Marson DDS, 80, of Glen Allen, Virginia passed peacefully on January 27, 2014. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Vivienne Marson; two sons, Scott Marson and his wife, Ann Marie Marson of Glen Allen, Virginia and their two sons Zachary and Kyle; and son, Russell Marson DDS and his wife Kim Marson of Atlanta, Georgia and their two sons Joshua and Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dora and Abraham Marson. Arthur was born in Brooklyn, NY and graduated from NYU and the NYU School of Dentistry. He was a Captain in the United States Air Force stationed in Belleville IL. After leaving the military, he was a founding partner of The Port Jefferson Dental Group in Port Jefferson, NY where he practiced for almost 40 years years before retiring to The Landings in Savannah, GA. in 2000. He was an active member of the North Shore Jewish Center and served as President of the North Shore Jewish Center Men's Club. He became the first non-medical Director of the St. Charles Hospital located in Port Jefferson and was also instrumental in developing the intern and resident program for the dental clinic for the Hospital. He was a recipient of the prestigious Theodore Roosevelt Award which is presented each year to a physician who demonstrates an outstanding example of volunteerism to the Hospital. After retiring to Savannah, he taught dentistry at Armstrong State University until 2011. He was a member of the Mickve Israel congregation. Arthur was a lifelong fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers and loyal fan of the NY Mets and NY Islanders. He enjoyed golfing, boating and traveling, but mostly spending time with his family and friends. Burial will be for immediate family only on Friday at Greenwood Cemetery in Richmond, VA. . The family thanks those at Parkside Assisted Living, CareMore, Comfort Keepers and Hospice for the friendship and loving care they gave Arthur.
