Wilbert Knight Obituary

Wilbert Knight - GLENNVILLE - Wilbert Knight, 77, died October 5, 2014 after an extended illness. He was born to Ottis P. and Elizabeth (Lizzie) Branham Knight on September 11, 1937. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a devoted and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church, he served as a deacon for 38 plus years, also served as treasurer for 32 years, as well as many other ministries in the church. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transporation after 34 years of faithful service as a mechanic. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son; two brothers; and a sister. Survivors include:His wife of 58 years: Kathryn Smith Knight of Glennville; Sons: Wendell (Sheila) Knight, Louis (Tiffanie) Knight, all of Glennville; Sisters: Margaret Swindell, Nancy (Vernon) Griffin, all of Glennville; Brothers: Billy (Linda) Knight, Rev. Jerry (Shera) Knight, all of Glennville; 7 Grandchildren, 5 Great-Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and several dear and special friends also survive. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home in Glennville. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 8, 2014 from the chapel of Brannen-Kennedy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Glennville City Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 509 W. Mann Street, Glennville, GA 30427 or Ogeechee Area Hospice, P. O. For Wilberts' family and friends Jack (Sweetwater) & Patsy Flowers wish you all the best in this time of Sorry. We would be there with you to remember all the good times we had with Wilbert in our earlier days but we are both having some medical problems at the time.
